It’s that time of the month again – time to catch up on what’s been going on at Speaking Scottish.
Open Meeting – Sat. 24th July
In order to share more about our activities so far, as well to seek feedback on the project and its future direction, we have scheduled our first ever Open Meeting on Sat. 24th July, 13:00-14:30. Anyone is free to come along and contribute, and we very much encourage you to! To find out more and register, please visit the event page on Eventbrite. The event is also on Facebook.
Recruiting New Team Member
To help with the day-to-day running and overall progress of Speaking Scottish, we have decided to officially look for an additional team member. More details will be released soon, but this will be a voluntary support role of a few hours a week.
If you’re keen to find out more, drop us a message and we will send further details when they are available. Alternatively, keep an eye out on social media and the website for further announcements.
New Learning Materials
This month, we are excited to have released the following new materials:
Bonus Packs are something new we are trying. They are smaller packs that go with our main Starter Packs and provide a little extra information on top of the essentials.

- Dunbar Area Pack
Once the Dunbar Area Pack is complete, we will be looking to build more Area Packs, so if you are keen to contribute info on your local area, we’d love to hear from you!
New Audio Files
A big thank you to our newest Speaking Scottish Voice, Jennifer, for contributing her dulcet tones to our recordings for the Weather Starter Pack! A huge thanks also goes to Robert, who has been diligently keeping up with our Recordings Masterlist.

New Website Look
If you haven’t looked at the website in a while, it may be worth a peek! In addition to a new layout, we now have a lot more pictures, making it (we hope) a lot more pleasant to use 😊
